Have you heard about this new fashion trend called “Disneybounding,” Explorers?
If you’re a Disney fan and an Instagrammer, there’s a 99% chance that you have.
If you are unfamiliar, here’s a quick breakdown: the idea behind Disneybounding is using your everyday clothes, fashion sense, and style to represent Disney characters or themes. The possibilities are limitless, and the community is extremely supportive.
The only rules about Disneybound, which I love because they do make it a challenge, are:
- This is NOT a costume
- This is NOT cosplay
You use what’s in your closet to get the closest representation. Your own clothes, jewelry, makeup to reflect the spirit of a character, Disneyland ride, song, or theme, and what it means to you.
If it’s not perfect…well that’s the point. Or at least, that’s what I think the point should be 🙂
For beginners (like me!) color blocking is one of the easiest ways to get started. But I have found as I do it more, my favorite part about Disneybounding is in the hints and tiny details. They may not be obvious to all, but they make the outfit a Disneybound.
